Talking to the Wall
No time to revise. No final practice with your coach. The clock at the end of the hall continues to remind that the time you have left is small. It’s just you and the other speechies. It’s just you and the wall. Fix your hair. Look prepared. Take out your 3-paged script so neatly taped to black paper. Your mouth is dry… One more drink of water and you’ll be fine. Fears and...
Jesus' Love
This love I’ve learned of, it’s incredible. Do you realize that someone died for you?! Someone suffered and died for you. Jesus, who has never sinned, died for a world of terrible sinners. Why? Because he loves us! He loves you, and he loves me.
So, what do we do with this love of Jesus? Share it. Let the world know who your master is. Tell your friends, your family, your...
Dark
I walk I walk Into the wall of clouds. The moon is bright, but the stars are out of sight. I walk and walk I hear not a sound. The air is crisp and it stings my chapped lips. I walk, I slowly walk And try not to slip on the icy ground. Nobody here, but I’ve no reason to fear. I walk I walk with hope I’ve found. The dark clouds ahead may look scary but with God by my side I won’t...

poem :)
Lord, I need help controlling my tongue. It’s so hard to return to the language of the innocently young. For how can I even think of telling others of their wrongs when just as soon, I join in with their evil songs. People can’t see the change God’s brought in me If the words escaping my mouth continue to deceive.
Frozen
the icicles hang low,
waiting for the
Big Yellow’s rays
to save them.
-returning to water once more
their home; on the ground floor.
but did they forget?
winter’s not over
just quite yet!

Merry Christmas!
I wrote this when I was like 8 or 9… I think. I wrote a lot of poems in elementary school. Haha.
Christmas Lights
Shining bright are Christmas lights,
in the night.
They’re in the sky, they’re on your tree,
they’re in your neighborhood you see.
So don’t you fright, because Christmas is near,
and I hope the Holidays bring you good cheer. :)
a few of my favorite poems
Fire and Ice
by Robert Frost
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great And would suffice.
Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early...
Poem
I just found this poem that I wrote in 7th grade, and I edited it a little.
December Nights
A December day is ending,
The sky is fairly dark.
With Christmas getting closer,
It gives everyone such excite.
I love these cold
December nights.
My Christmas tree is far too small,
But always shining bright.
When dawn turns to dusk,
you can see every light.
I love these cold
December...
55 Fiction
55 Fiction is when you write a piece of fiction in exactly 55 words. It’s hard to make a story that short, but it’s fun; you should try it.
Christmas Morning
It was Christmas morning and they were gathered around the tree, more than ready to open presents. Sarah couldn’t wait to see the look on her older brother’s face when he unwrapped the gift.
“Wow! This is...

"Call me Ishmael..."
A few minutes ago, I finished reading Moby Dick, by Herman Melville. I was challenged to read the complete, unabridged version earlier this year. Ok, so, it wasn’t the most interesting book to read and I couldn’t just whiz through it like other books. After reading for many many MONTHS, I think it was worth it. The book finally got interesting the last 100 pages or so, and though I...

This poem makes me laugh
The Purple Cow
I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one.

Watch out, there's a new driver on the road :)
So yesterday, I finally got to take the written test to get my permit. I was afraid I wouldn’t pass because I knew a lot of people that didn’t the first time. But to my surprise, I only got 3 wrong! Yay! Jeremy also passed, which means there are two new drivers at home. I haven’t driven yet; hopefully mom or dad will take us driving sometime… ( they’re not too...
